Fun little story: My first foray into journalism began with a byline in a tech publication back in 2021.
At the time, I did not have any idea of what a pitch was. Upon a recommendation by a friend, I joined Twitter (now X). While adding and accruing my first followers, I came across a kind-hearted editor who tweeted that she was willing to workshop ideas with new writers. I immediately emailed her and we hopped on a call. The result was a first-person, reported essay on What Spotify and Apple can learn from Chinese podcasting apps.
Since then, I’ve written about the impact of technology on culture and society. I’ve also done accountability reporting on BigTech companies and how their actions influence laborers.
